This is my chess piece that i drew in CyberARTS. We would rearrange the piece until it's on the angle I want. Then I did a rough sketch of the piece. After I did a hard line when I was happy with the shape I got. Then I started to add features. Like the first step, I did a rough sketch, then did a hard line and erased the others. After I did the shading. I couldn't move the chess piece because the light for the shading couldn't change. I found that difficult because of the angle i had it.
I used many different types of line. At first, I used long, rough, light, lines. After when I went over the lines, I did hard, long, precis, lines. Once I got to the detailed drawings for the facial features etc. I used more curvy, jagged, lines. Now for the shading. I used lots and lots of line. I usually used short lines and the amount of darkness depending on the shade. Those are the lines I used.
For my rough sketching I used the 6B pencil. Depending on the darkness on the shade, I would change between pencils. Darkest being 6B, Medium being 2B, and lightest being HB. Those are the three pencils I used.
I made sure that the chess piece stood out the most. I used the most value in the horse. For the background I didn't change the value often in one shape. Although I did use a lot of value through out the drawing.
I am proud of my drawing. All of that time and I think paid off.
